Call for Papers

nasen is offering the opportunity for your work to be displayed and discussed an an upcoming online conference, ‘ENABLING ACCESS: What is new in the field of supporting learners with SEND?’ which takes place on Friday 12th April 2024.

This online conference provides an opportunity for Researchers who are exploring  support for learners with SEND to present their current work and share ideas.

Where appropriate presenters will be invited to develop their work for inclusion in a special edition of our international, Support for Learning journal. A support session will be included within the conference, providing advice on developing your work for publication.

We are particularly interested in the work of PG students and early career researchers, who can bring fresh perspectives to this topic.

Closing date for applications is 31st January 2024

We welcome individual or joint paper submissions, these can be based upon empirical research or be a literature-based position/discussion piece.

Each presentation will be allotted a 15-minute slot, followed by five minutes for questions. 

Criteria for the selection of papers:

  • Clarity of the research/position/discussion focus
  • Originality of the research/position/discussion
  • Significance of the research for SEND practice
  • Explanation of ethical considerations where relevant.

Presenters will be informed if their paper has been accepted no later than 23rd February 2024.
