understanding and supporting the child on the autistic spectrum

Introduction

12th June 2009  -  Riviera International Conference Centre, Devon

Autism is a lifelong developmental disability that affects the way a person communicates and relates to people around them. It is part of the autism spectrum and is sometimes referred to as an autism spectrum disorder, or an ASD. This conference will begin to set out how we can approach the complex challenges posed by autism and provide the support needed to develop learning.

The keynote presentation will be delivered by Mary Daly, Programme Lead, Inclusion Development Programme* (IDP) working for the National Strategies.  For more information about the IDP and autism please use the following link to the National Strategies Primary and Secondary Inclusion Development Programme (IDP): Supporting pupils on the autism spectrum
