Exciting tender opportunity available
As the leading organisation supporting education professionals with SEND, nasen maintains an exacting standard of quality and is trusted by the sector.
Contributing to this reputation are the range of resources which nasen produces for its members, all of which inform, educate and support them in their roles. nasen membership is broad, being predominantly made up of teachers, Early Years (EY) practitioners, SENCOs, school leaders and local authority staff.
Providing the most useful support to EY practitioners is therefore very important to us and so we wish to expand our range of relevant resources. To help us to achieve this, we are inviting responses to our proposal to create in the region of 50 new resources aimed specifically at education professionals working in all EY settings with children with SEND. These resources must address the current needs of practitioners and may cover areas such as:
- Knowledge of relevant statutory responsibilities for SEND
- How to identify needs
- How to support children with different needs
- How to adapt the learning environment and provision for children with different needs
- Working effectively with outside agencies
- Working effectively with parents and carers
- Developing staff confidence in working with SEND
- Everything settings need to know about funding for SEND
We are also keen to identify what other support the sector may want and so welcome all other ideas for relevant resource topics.
There is a maximum of £10,000 (exclusive of VAT) available to one or more consultants/organisations with expertise in SEND and/or EY to create these resources on behalf of nasen. We ask that all interested parties submit a proposal of no more than 3 sides of A4 to nasen’s Chief Executive, Professor Adam Boddison (email@example.com) by no later than 5pm on 31st July 2019. Available to silver and gold members, this useful person centred working tool is suitable for those supporting pupils in Early Years, Primary, Secondary and post 16 settings. The resource can be used to outline a pupil’s key strengths, needs and the strategies and key adjustments to teaching that are needed every day. It can provide a useful vehicle for meaningful discussion around learning between the teacher and the pupil, involving them positively in discussing effective approaches to enable better engagement. Working in a person-centred way (across the whole setting), including the use of person-centred tools, is essential for not only populating the passport but also for getting the most from using it.
