Saturday 20th October saw over 230 professionals gather together for nasen Northern Ireland’s event ‘Spotlight on a resource file’. The event consisted of a number of high profile speaking including nasen’s CEO Lorraine Petersen who spoke on the role of the SENCO. The topics covered included, IEPs, gifted and talented, autism, numeracy and iPads so there was a real depth to the programme despite being only a half-day event.
Many of the delegates gave their feedback on twitter using the hashtag ‘nasenni’, which if you are able to access them give a real flavour of the event. One delegated tweeted that ‘capacity building’ was the buzz word of the day and the theme that all teachers are teachers of pupils with special needs was certainly reiterated throughout the day.
