Managing Behaviour

Including the Troubled and Troublesome - Scotland

4th October 2008

The problem is the problem not the child

Rob Long, Education Works

Children and young people are often trying to solve problems rather than be a problem.   Analysing the individual is not always the best way forward.   Problem behaviour is often really, 'inappropriate problem solving techniques.'  This workshop will analyse the problem, and not the child.

Engaging the Disengaged – Raising the Achievement of Disaffected Students

Dave Vizard, Behaviour Solutions

This workshop will demonstrate proven strategies to raise the self-esteem and resilience of learners and share support mechanisms that work to raise the achievement of disengaged students. We will look at how emotional literacy can be developed in disengaged learners and how the development of a consistent approach to managing their behaviour is key to engaging this group of students.
